A transformer station is a substation that distributes and distributes electricity to end customers (car washes, restaurants, stores, offices, homes). Usually built as traditional buildings, they are increasingly found in the form of specialized technical containers.

What is a transformer station in a shipping container?

Container transformer stations, otherwise known as container stations, are complete electrical equipment. Within the frames and walls of a shipping container (usually specially adapted technical containers ranging in size from 10 to 40 feet) are enclosed all the elements that a traditional transformer station has. The equipment of such a container mainly includes the substation infrastructure, including the transformer, MV switchgear, metering systems, internal installations, etc. Such substations are divided into external and with an internal service corridor.

Unlike traditional transformer stations, marine container transformer stations are characterized primarily by freedom of transportation, ease of foundation and installation in any area, which translates into a significant reduction in the cost of the project.

Transformer station in a shipping container vs. a technical container

A technical container is created by adapting a shipping container for specific purposes. What activities does such a process involve? First of all, the installation of doors (single or double doors). It is also the making of technical holes (bringing out cables, ventilation pipes or hydrophore installation), ducts and slats for installation. The work includes installing the floor and insulation layers (insulation). It is, in addition, appropriate security (alarm installation, bars on windows) and, finally, installation of equipment (infrastructure) in accordance with the purpose of the container.

Technical container – price

The basic price of a technical container consists of the cost of purchasing a sea container. It is also influenced by the cost of adapting this container into a technical container with strictly defined equipment. Of course, you should also keep in mind the cost of drawing up a design, obtaining permits and certification for certain configurations. The price of a technical container is always, but it always depends on the number and price of the elements that make up the process of its adaptation. For example – a technical container that serves as a server room will be more expensive than a technical container that serves as a firefighting room, so there is no strictly defined price of a technical container.
