What makes military containers unique? Let’s start with the fact that demobilized equipment is considered by many to be indestructible. It is said to be reliable and one of a kind. And for good reason. Demobil stuff is characterized not only by its durability. Above all, they are very original. In addition, there is a piece of history behind every demobilized item. After all, this is equipment produced for the army for specific purposes. What unit did it serve in, who used it and what is its history? This is what makes demobil extremely popular.

Containers created for the military have little in common with shipping containers they are still usually rectangular metal boxes, but their use and design are significantly different.

So what are the uses of military containers and what are their types? The most common types of military containers are: welfare facilities, catering facilities, sanitary facilities and living quarters. In addition, we may also come across white ravens. These are containers with generators, workshop equipment or reconnaissance equipment. A large number of these containers are removed from truck bodies or set on special truck trailers.

One idea for arranging a military container may be to restore it to its original condition – from recomposing external features such as painting, emblems, doors, windows or handles, to completing the equipment and repairing the electrical system, to restoring it to full functionality. A military container after such treatment will be quite a treat for collectors. Another interesting way to take advantage of the unique features of a military container, such as its sturdy construction and unconventional appearance, is to use it in automotive applications, such as by creating a mobile workshop or camping on its base – especially if the military container is on a car trailer.

Regardless of what one intends to do with a military container that has come from demobilization, a meticulous inspection of its condition will be necessary in most situations. Chances are that the military container, before it came into the hands of a private individual, may have been standing in bushes or other areas with unfavorable conditions. So sometimes sheet metal repairs will be unavoidable.

Although most of the military containers that we can find on auction sites in the automotive or home and garden categories (olx, allegro) are not expensive – do not be fooled. A large part of them are used, stand-alone structures or car bodies. It is not uncommon for them to be in poor condition, making it necessary to add to the initial price and the cost of the arrangement, the amount we will have to spend on repairing the flashing elements, which sometimes adds up to a sum several times the initial price. You can, of course, target the more expensive pieces – those that are preserved in good condition, or brand new. On the other hand, this is not a simple matter, as you have to keep your hand on the pulse all the time – such ads appear extremely rarely, and disappear extremely quickly.
