Fruit, natural gas, bus, coal, meat, scrap metal – do they have anything in common?<\/strong><\/h2>

It would seem not, and yet. Any of these things and thousands of others can be shipped by container to (almost) anywhere in the world. We just need the right container to do it. <\/p>

Goose neck, or perhaps a side rib? By no means do they stand for the names of dishes we might order in a fine restaurant. They are, of course, as you may have guessed, design elements of the most common 1 TEU (twenty foot equivalent unit)<\/a>, or 20-foot container. But let’s start at the beginning. <\/p>

In order to talk about a container at all, no matter what kind, whether a tanker, a platform, a refrigerated container or a typical twenty – we need a frame. Every universal sea container bases its construction on a steel frame, which obligatorily includes: <\/p>
